1Why does my drain get clogged?

Your drains get can clogged from a variety of factors. Most drain clogs result when dirt, skin flakes, and especially hair binds to soap scum on the walls of drain pipes. Over time, this gunk accumulates and reduces water flow. Other factors that are known to clog drains are cooking grease, feminine hygiene products, cotton-tipped swabs, dental floss and pre-moistened diaper wipes.

2What causes my faucet to drip?

Faucet drips otherwise known as leaky faucets happen for a variety of reasons. The typical reasons of faucet dripping include corrosion, mineral deposit on the internal parts, or defective gaskets, o-rings, or washers.

3How can I prevent leaking pipes?

Preventing leaky pipes can be an easy fix or a repair that is quite cumbersome that requires a professional plumber to handle. Here are a few basic quick fixes:
– Shut off the water valve to the pipe.
– Turn on the faucets to drain the water that is left in the pipes.
– Wipe the pipe dry with a towel or cloth. …
– Use a putty knife to put some epoxy on the leaking area.
– Cover the leak with rubber.

4Is it a big deal if my toilet is running?

Absolutely! Not just because there is an issue with your toilet and your water bill is rising but its an environmental issue as well.

Here’s an interesting fact: The United States Environmental Protection Agency reveals, “On an average, leaks can cause almost 10,000 gallons of wastage in a home every year, and this amount is sufficient to fill a swimming pool.

5How long should a water heater last?

While gas water heaters last for 10 years and electric ones last up to 15 years, it is best to examine them periodically and carry out regular maintenance to prolong their life and reduce any damage.  Our advise is to schedule annual draining and flushing of your home water heater tank and other inspections. You can extend the life of the water heater and save yourself money and unexpectedly cold showers by being proactive.
